Pupil Premium

Schools receive pupil premium funding for pupils that are currently entitled to free school meals or have been entitled to them in the last 6 years.

The funding is received on a financial year basis (April – March) but schools are required to publish the amount they receive for an academic year which means that at the start of the academic year the amount for September to March is known but the amount for April to August is estimated.

The anticipated funding for the Academic Year 2014/15 is £127,400.

Schools spend a high proportion of their income on staff and they are a crucial resource in any school. We use pupil premium funding to cover all or part of the cost of the following staff/activities:

  • Pastoral support

    • Safeguarding and Family Link Officer

    • Senior Learning Mentor

    • Pupil Support Assistant

  • Curriculum staff

    • Smaller class sizes (additional teachers and teaching assistants)

    • Additional HLTA to provide cover for absent teachers so we do not need to use supply teachers

    • Staffing for the Magic Room

    • Additional hours for Teaching Assistants to provide support in the afternoons

    • Easter School

  • Subsidising school trips
