Pupil Premium and Sport Premium

Schools receive pupil premium funding for pupils that are currently entitled to free school meals or have been entitled to them in the last 6 years.

The funding is received on a financial year basis (April – March) but schools are required to publish the amount they receive for an academic year which means that at the start of the academic year the amount for September to March is known but the amount for April to August is estimated.

The anticipated funding for the Academic Year 2016/17 is £178,200

Our funding for this year is based on 135 children (roughly half of the school) being eligible for Pupil Premium, this means that there are eligible children in every class. Schools spend a high proportion of their income on staff and they are a crucial resource in any school. We use pupil premium funding to cover all or part of the cost of the following staff/activities:

  • Pastoral support

    • Safeguarding Liaison Officer

    • Learning Mentor

    • Teaching Assistant working in Inclusion

  • Curriculum staff

    • Smaller class sizes (additional teachers and teaching assistants)

    • Additional HLTA to provide cover for absent teachers so we do not need to use supply teachers

    • Additional hours for Teaching Assistants to provide support in the afternoons

    • Easter School

  • Subsidising school trips

  • Additional equipment and training.
